WE ARE ON WAX!

The Vienna-based electronic music imprint Rack Rash Records is thrilled to announce the release of ‚Rack Rash Records Anthology #1‘, its first vinyl compilation. The collection is a collaborative project featuring the label’s artists Parterre, Mekoor, Max Thomasberger and Moritz Scharf, who merged their prolific artistic potential and carved it into one piece of wax. Each track on „RRR Anthology #1″ reflects the individual style of the contributing artists and their passionate dedication to the production of stylistically unbound electronic music.

In the inaugural track „Fatigue“ by Parterre, the fusion of retro-futuristic synths with the rhythmic intricacies of 2000s 2step beats hints at a captivating juxtaposition of nostalgic warmth and forward-thinking innovation. The title „Fatigue“ suggests a potential exploration of weariness, perhaps juxtaposed with bursts of energy or moments of introspection.

Mekoor’s „Pelletier“ embarks on a spellbinding odyssey, where harmonious house chords and infectious breakbeat rhythms intertwine like threads in a cosmic tapestry. The track will sweep you into an ethereal realm, where pulsating basslines and celestial synths coalesce, summoning echoes of bygone eras while charting a course toward the vanguard of electronic music’s prospect.

In ‚Triolets’ by Max Thomasberger, you will be drawn into a tranquil journey, where a playful piano motif forms the serene foundation. As the composition unfolds, the gentle melody evolves into a formidable force, interweaving with weighty synth textures and piercing 303 Acid lines. What begins as a delicate musical exploration transforms into a majestic symphony, finding its melodic offshoots swirling through multiple octaves towards the edges of the audible range.

Finally, Moritz Scharf’s closing track ‚Stahlkuss‘ marks a departure from the preceding ones, rawness and brutality take center stage. Dominated by a powerful drone sound sculpted from the depths of his Soma Lyra-8, the composition is uncompromisingly dystopian. Yet, amidst its relentless intensity, it culminates in ethereal strings, casting a diffuse yet angelic light upon its coarse substrate.

’RRR Anthology’ is available as a limited 12“ vinyl edition. Additionally, it can be downloaded digitally on Bandcamp.
